At My Beauty Basics we offer both type of wax hair removal. Both are very popular and have some differences between the two methods.

Soft Wax or Strip Wax

ree

Strip wax or soft wax method of hair removal uses thin layer of sticky wax on the skin which needs a paper strip to be removed from the skin along side the hair.

Please note strip wax or soft wax may not be suitable if your skin is sensitive, prone to ingrown hair, your hair are too stubborn or you are less tolerant to the little discomfort that is caused during the strip or soft wax hair removal.

Key feature of the soft/strip wax is that it gets stuck on the skin like a glue and requires a paper/fibre strip to remove it. Whilst pulling the wax from the skin, there is a little tendency for very think layer of skink also gets pulled along with hair.

Strip wax hair removal method is generally less costly in comparison with the hot/hard wax. This is mainly due to the material costs.

Hot Wax or Hard Wax

Hard Wax

Hot wax or hard wax is applied thickly and allowed to cool and harden on the skin. Hot wax is pulled off directly from the skin without using strips. Key feature of the hot wax is that its not stick to the skin but create a hard grip around the hair to be pulled out.

Hard wax can be used all over the skin and is mainly very popular for use on the sensitive areas like face, underarms and bikini areas.

Hard wax is much more comfortable method of hair removal in comparison with strip/soft wax. Hard wax is better for hard, stubborn hair and even very short hair as short as 1mm.
